First things first: THIS IS NOT TRUE DENIM. If you are buying this top expecting an actual structured denim fabric, adjust your expectations immediately because I definitely did not. 😂 I saw “denim,” ordered my little denim top, opened the package and said… oh.

This is much more of a stretchy polyester material made to give you the LOOK of denim. From a distance and once it’s styled, you will absolutely still get the denim effect, but if you’re expecting that thicker, structured, 100% denim feel — this is not that.

Sizing-wise, I would say it is true to size, and because the material has stretch, it actually fits the body nicely. I can see why some people may even prefer this fabric because it’s much lighter and more flexible than actual denim.

And to be fair, as an island girl living in a hot climate, there is an upside! 😂 Real denim can be HOT, so this lighter material will probably be much easier to wear here.
